NWSL's Utah Royals' captain Becky Sauerbrunn agrees deal with Portland Thorns
National Women's Soccer League player Becky Sauerbrunn has agreed a swap deal with the Portland Thorns from the Utah Royals.
Sauerbrunn, who is the Royals' captain, has played at her current club since 2018. She began her NWSL career at Kansas City in 2013 and spent four seasons with the club.
She will switch places with a player from Thorns but it is yet to emerge who that will be, according to The Athletic.
The 34 year-old also has 174 caps for the US national team, winning a gold medal at the Rio Olympics and back-to-back World Cup titles.
