Tottenham and England legend Jimmy Greaves discharged from hospital
Tottenham and England legend Jimmy Greaves has been discharged from hospital, his family have confirmed.
The 80 year-old Londoner was admitted eight days ago for an unspecified illness, with no indication it was coronavirus-related.
But Spurs' all-time record goalscorer has now returned home, with his son Danny revealing they are still awaiting test results.
Speaking to the Spurs club website, he said: "Dad is comfortable and we are pleased he is back home where he can have some rest and recuperation. He has not been well, and we are still waiting on all the results.
"On behalf of our family, I would like to thank all the NHS staff that have been looking after Dad and for all the well wishes we have received.”
Greaves scored 266 goals in 381 appearances for Tottenham as well as enjoying spells at Chelsea, AC Milan and West Ham.
He is also fourth on England's all-time top scorers list with 44 goals in 57 games.
Only Wayne Rooney, Bobby Charlton and Gary Lineker have netted more times for the Three Lions.
