On this day in 2019: Tottenham beat Crystal Palace as Son Heung-min scores first goal at new Tottenham Hotspur Stadium
On this day in 2019, Spurs opened their new state of the art £1bn Tottenham Hotspur Stadium with a 2-0 victory over Crystal Palace.
A difficult first half saw the home side create very little in the way of clear-cut chances as the visitors threatened to spoil the Spurs party.
But ten minutes after the break Christian Eriksen fed Son Heung-min whose shot deflected off Luka Milivojevic and into the net for the first goal inside the new ground.
And it was Eriksen himself who doubled Mauricio Pochettino's side's lead in the 80th minute when Harry Kane wriggled his way into the box and inadvertently fed the ball to the Dane who thumped home.
One year on from the opening of the stadium, Spurs' record at the ground currently stands at won 16, drawn three, lost nine.
