Leicester City and England midfielder James Maddison has signed a new deal with the Foxes to keep him at the club until 2024.

The 23-year-old has scored 16 goals in 76 games since joining the Premier League side in the summer of 2018.

According to BBC Sport, the deal is worth £110,000 per week and will replace his previous deal which was due to run out in 2023.

Maddison missed the final few games of Leicester’s season due to a hip injury.

Brendan Rodgers’ side struggled to cope with the loss of Maddison and other first team players such as Ben Chilwell as they dropped out of the top four on the final day after a defeat to Manchester United.

However, the Foxes will still be playing European football next season as they qualified for the Europa League, the first time they have entered the competition since it 2000-01 when it was called the UEFA Cup.

Maddison received his first England cap in November last year in a 7-0 victory over Montenegro.
