Boxer Jonas worried over finances after world title fight against Harper is postponed
British boxer Natasha Jonas has admitted she has financial concerns after her fight with Terri Harper was postponed until June.
The 35-year-old Liverpudlian was scheduled to take on Harper for the WBC Super Featherweight Title on April 24, but the fight has been pushed back.
And although Jonas has been given a new date for her first world title contest, she is also concerned about the situation the COVID-19 pandemic has left her in.
Speaking to BBC Sport, she said: "I suppose we are like a lot of self-employed people in that when we box, we get paid.
"It's hard because a lot of boxers will get paid for sponsorships on their shorts on a fight day and bonus fees for fighting.
"Those fighting on Sky Sports or Box Nation can get bigger packages for sponsorships as it is being broadcast on different platforms. When you're not fighting that doesn't happen."
