Zara Hyde Peters to pass up as UK Athletics CEO role amid allegations against husband
Zara Hyde Peters will not be taking up her position as CEO of UK Athletics due to allegations against her husband over an 'inappropriate relationship' with a schoolgirl aged 15.
After an emergency board meeting over the weekend, it was decided that the former distance runner would not begin her £300,000 a year position at the beginning of December.
Despite last week giving his support to her appointment, UK Athletics chair Chris Clark read a statement saying: "Following recent press reports and significant media attention focused on Zara Hyde Peters, the UK Athletics Board convened a meeting this past Sunday 24th November and discussed the situation fully.
"Following the meeting I had time with Zara to review the situation and we have agreed together, that she will now not be taking up her position as CEO on 1st December."
Names in the frame to replace her have not yet been announced.
