World Champions Dina Asher-Smith and Katarina Johnson-Thompson confirmed for 2020 Müller Anniversary Games ahead of Tokyo Olympics
Dina Asher-Smith and Katarina Johnson-Thompson are confirmed to top the bill for the Müller Anniversary Games at the London Stadium next July.
Fresh off the back of their respective successes at the IAAF World Championships in Doha this year, both will compete at the pre-Tokyo send-off event in front of a home crowd.
Asher-Smith became Britain's first female sprint world champion when she claimed 200m gold at the championships, as well as silver in both the 100m and 4x100m relay while Johnson-Thompson broke the British record to win heptathlon gold.
Asher-Smith said: “I’ve always been vocal about my love of competing in front of a home crowd so to finish my Olympic preparations by competing at the London Stadium will be special and truly is the best send-off I could ask for.
“I know from experience that the fields assembled for the Müller Anniversary Games are world class across the board, so I know full well that I’ll be stepping out against the best women in the world."
The Müller Anniversary Games will be the 10th leg of the 2020 IAAF Diamond League calendar and will take place over the weekend of July 4 and 5.
