Tatiana Calderón burst onto the scene as the first female driver in Formula 2 this year as she joined BWT Arden, but with the Banbury-based team bowing out at the end of the season she is unsure of her racing future.

The 26-year-old Colombian driver spoke out before the final race of the season in Abu Dhabi this weekend saying: "It’s a place I enjoy driving a lot, it’s going to be a night qualifying and first race, so I hope we can make the most out of this weekend, enjoy it, and hopefully bring home some good results that can help for the future.”

Calderón struggled in the penultimate race in Sochi in September, finishing in 18th position, but is hoping to bounce back to give her team a strong send off.

"We’ve had time to think, analyse and reset. Also the future is a little bit uncertain so I don’t know if it’s going to be my last race in Formula 2 so I want to make sure we can do the best possible job, hopefully finish on a high in Abu Dhabi," she said.

The team from Banbury have been part of the primary Formula 1 feeder series for three seasons, yielding seven podiums and four race victories along the way.

Along with her Russian teammate Artem Markelov, Calderón will take on the eponymous 3.4 mile track at the season-ending double-header November 29 - December 1 to see the team off in style.
