Sky Blue FC signs Sabrina Flores on a two-year deal ahead of NWSL Challenge Cup
Sky Blue FC have signed midfielder Sabrina Flores on a two-year contract.
The 24 year-old left Spanish team Sevilla FC to return to Sky Blue where she played four matches with the side during the 2019 season while on a National Team Replacement contract.
She said: “It is an amazing feeling to be back with Sky Blue.
“I’m beyond grateful to be representing this club and my home state of New Jersey again. I can’t wait to be out on the pitch in Utah next week for the NWSL Challenge Cup.”
She has represented the US national team at under-20 level, and appeared at the 2015 CONCACAF Women’s under-20 Championship and the 2016 FIFA under-20 Women’s World Cup.
She then made a federation switch two years ago after being called into training with the senior Mexico women’s national squad.
Sky Blue head coach Freya Coombe added: “We are really pleased to welcome Sabrina back to Sky Blue.
“She has experience playing in Spain, which brings a different tactical challenge and as a result has increased her game understanding. She brings this experience back to the team and we are excited to see her back in a Sky Blue jersey.”
The side will be competing in the 2020 National Women’s Soccer League Challenge Cup which is set to kick off on June 27 in Utah.
