As it happened: Rugby World Cup 2023 draw
The 2023 Rugby World Cup draw takes place today to determine who will play who in the pool stage at the competition being hosted in France.
Each team has been placed in a band and teams from each band will be placed in a different pool.
The bands
Band 1 - South Africa, New Zealand, England, Wales
Band 2 - Ireland, France, Australia, Japan
Band 3 - Scotland, Argentina, Fiji and Italy
Band 4 - Oceania 1, Americas 1, Europe 1, Asia / Pacific 1
Band 5 - Africa 1, Europe 2, Americas 2, Final Qualifier Winner

The 2023 Rugby World Cup draw will happen in less than an hour!
The draw will happen in Paris as France will be hosting the global tournament
How does it work?
The teams have been placed into bands depending on their world ranking.
Teams in each band will then be placed in different pools for the tournament.
The bands are:
Band 1 - South Africa, New Zealand, England, Wales
Band 2 - Ireland, France, Australia, Japan
Band 3 - Scotland, Argentina, Fiji and Italy
Band 4 - Oceania 1, Americas 1, Europe 1, Asia / Pacific 1
Band 5 - Africa 1, Europe 2, Americas 2, Final Qualifier Winner
When will coverage start?
While the draw will start at 11.30 the coverage for the draw will begin at 11.15
Who will defending champions South Africa have in their pool?

There is less than half an hour until we find out the pools for the 2023 Rugby World Cup
There’s potential for huge rivalries to go up against each other in the pool stages, just as the women’s tournament was drawn.
Who will England be drawn with?
England could be drawn in a pool with France and Argentina which will be looked at as the ‘pool of death’.
No matter who they are drawn with Eddie Jones will be looking to claim the trophy in 2023 after missing out last year to South Africa.
