Popstar Billie Eilish slams those ignoring coronavirus pandemic rules
Popstar Billie Eilish has hit out at people for ‘partying’ during the coronavirus pandemic while she continues to adhere to Government guidelines.
The 18 year-old American made the remarks in the wake of famous youngsters such as YouTuber Jake Paul getting into trouble for hosting parties which were flouting the pandemic rules.
Speaking with a filter on her Instagram story, she said: "Funny how I haven’t hugged my best friends in six months and y’all are out here partying."
She then took the filter off and added: "Funny."
Eilish lives in Los Angeles, California where 257,000 people have tested positive for the virus and more than 6,000 have died.
Across the United States, there have been over 6.8 million confirmed cases of COVID-19 and the death toll has now exceeded 200,000.
Meanwhile, Eilish’s brother Finneas - who produces her music - recently confirmed neither his or his sister’s new records will be released until coronavirus measures are lifted.
"I have a desperate desire not to release them during COVID-19. It’s the vaccine record! I want it to be the album everyone’s out dancing in the streets to," he told The Herald Sun.
"Billie and I are full steam ahead on her next record, I’m working on my own album too. I haven’t suffered at all because of my set-up.
"Billie and I can work one-on-one, and I’m working remotely with other artists who FaceTime me and ask if I want to work on a song."
