New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern has no advice for Kanye West after rapper declares he is running in 2020 US election
New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern has said she does not have any advice for Kanye West ahead of the 2020 US presidential election.
The 43 year-old confirmed on social media on Sunday that he would be running for president later this year.
He said: "We must now realise the promise of America by trusting God, unifying our vision and building our future.
"I am running for president of the United States Flag of United States! #2020VISION."
Prime Minister Ardern also faces her own election this year as she bids for a second successive term in September having taken charge in 2017.
Yet despite both Ardern and West seemingly preparing for election battles towards the end of 2020, the Kiwi leader does not have any advice for the songwriter.
Speaking at a press conference on Monday, she said: "You’re asking me what my advice for Kanye West is?
"It may not surprise you. I can’t say I have any advice for Kanye West for running for the American presidency."
West has gone on record as a supporter of current president Donald Trump, but is still planning to run against both him and Democratic candidate Joe Biden.
