Mike Tyson will tell Jamie Foxx ‘the truth’ about his life for upcoming film biopic
World Champion boxer Mike Tyson has said he will tell Hollywood actor Jamie Foxx ‘the truth’ about his life before the star plays him in a film.
It was announced last week that Foxx would be playing Tyson in a film biopic and the sporting legend has said he’ll be giving the actor tips.
He said on an Instagram Live with Charlie Mack: "He’s going to do a great job, I know that.
“Yeah, I’m very grateful. I’m very excited about it. I’m going to sit down and tell him the truth and he’s going to have to learn how to process that. It’s not going to be pretty and stuff.”
Foxx spoke about his upcoming role when it was announced last week.
He said it would be exciting to display Tyson’s evolution onscreen. The renowned boxer served prison time for a rape in 1992 and a separate sentence in 1999 for assault.
Foxx said on Instagram Live with producer Mark Birnbaum: “I saw him at the height of his career and also when things got bad, when things got bumpy, I also saw him as well.
“We want to show how everybody evolves, everybody comes from a good or bad place.
“When we add the layers on Mike Tyson and his journey, everybody – young and old – will be able to understand this man’s journey”.
