Manchester United’s Ella Toone re-signs for WSL club in two-year deal
Manchester United forward Ella Toone has re-signed for the Women’s Super League club on a two-year deal.
The U21 England international joined United when the club was formed in July 2018. She has made 47 appearances across all competitions and scored 22 goals.
She said: “I’m thrilled to have signed a new deal. I think of the club as family and I’m so happy to be continuing my development here.
“I want to thank the players and staff for the environment we have created at United. I wouldn’t want to be playing my football anywhere else.
“I’m just looking forward to getting started next season - we’ve been working really hard during these uncertain times and I know we’ll be back stronger.”
And United manager Casey Stoney has described Toone as an ‘intelligent and skilful’ player.
“Ella is a fantastic character to have in our squad. She brings great enthusiasm and competitiveness to everything she does," she said.
“She is an intelligent and skilful player who I’ve seen develop a lot over the last couple of years, so I’m really happy she has committed her future to the club.
“As one of the younger players in the squad I have no doubt she will push herself further and continue to develop throughout her time with us.”
This news comes after three other United players re-signed for the club.
Jess Sigsworth, Amy Turner and Kirsty Hanson have all pledged their futures with the WSL side.
