Man United Women’s boss Casey Stoney says she’s ‘right behind’ Rashford’s campaign for free school meals
Manchester United Women’s manager Casey Stoney has said she fully supports Marcus Rashford in his fight for free food vouchers for children.
Rashford has written to MPs to implore them to make a U-turn on reducing free meals during summer holidays.
Stoney tweeted: "This is so important as many will know it makes such a huge difference to families and most importantly children.
“I was one of those that benefited from this as a child. Right behind you @MarcusRashford”
As well as Stoney, a myriad of support has flooded in for Rashford - including the Labour party and football pundit Gary Lineker.
The buzz on social media and media attention has caught the eye of Number 10 who said Prime Minister Boris Johnson will respond to Rashford’s letter.
And praise for the England and United player has not only been for the letter to MPs, but also in support of the money he has raised for food charities.
Rashford has helped to raise £20 million for food distribution charity FareShare.
