Leah Williamson scores late as England beat Czech Republic 3-2 in see-saw friendly
England bounced back from defeat to Germany at Wembley with a pulsating 3-2 victory away at the Czech Republic.
The hosts opened the scoring after a quarter of an hour through Tereza Szewieczkova after Katerina Svitkova threaded a perfect pass through the English defence.
England levelled moments later when Nikita Parris crossed the ball into the penalty area for Beth England to finish neatly.
And it took the Lionesses less than three minutes to go in front when Mead curled the ball beautifully into the far corner.
But the home side fired back quickly themselves as Szewieczkova finished clinically to level things once more before the half hour mark.
The game remained 2-2 deep into the final stages of the game, with the Lionesses pressing for the victory.
And with just four minutes left Leah Williamson found space on the edge of the box and fired in a sniper-like effort into the corner to the relief of manager Phil Neville.
The win means England picked up their second victory in eight games since their quarter-final victory in the 2019 World Cup.
