Columnist Katie Hopkins has said she will ‘reveal the truth’ behind her permanent ban from social media site Twitter.

Hopkins was suspended from the platform yesterday after she breached their Hateful Conduct policy.

She has now harnessed another social media site to speak publicly - Instagram. She shared a photo of US site CNN’s coverage of her suspension and wrote: "Thank you for your messages.

“I can confirm that this is the ONLY account for @KTHopkins. I will share the truth behind my twitter suspension here, soon.”

Her departure from Twitter came after a petition circulated to oust her from the platform. Now members of the public are creating one to get her off of Instagram.

One user commented on Hopkins’ latest post saying: “BAN HER FROM INSTAGRAM — LINK IN BIO — SIGN IT”

And another wrote: “Hopefully Instagram take you down as well”.

Hopkins also hailed herself a ‘Twitter legend’ in the bio description of her Instagram page. 

It reads: “The home of the twitter legend formerly known as @KTHopkins”

However, her reach on Instagram is much depleted from what she had on Twitter. 

Her Instagram only has 80,000 followers whereas her Twitter account boasted over a million.
