Kairi Sane confirms departure from WWE with emotional message
Kairi Sane has confirmed her departure from WWE with an emotional message on social media.
The 31 year-old star, who joined WWE in 2017 is the former NXT Women’s Champion and the Women’s Tag Team Champion alongside Asuka.
She revealed the news after last night’s episode of Monday Night Raw.
She said: "My time in the NXT & WWE locker rooms was incredible. Everyone was kind, funny, & talented, so every day was full of happiness.
“Also, I was saved by the supportive staff behind the scenes. I will forever love & respect all these professionals I had the pleasure of working with.
"I was able to accomplish so much in the last three years, but it wasn’t because of my ability or my strength. It was because of all of the constant, warm support from the fans.
“I am so thankful I could meet you all. Thank you from the bottom of my heart."
WWE added: “It's been an incredible WWE voyage for @KairiSaneWWE. #ThankYouKairi.”
WWE ambassador Dana Warrior said: “You are a shining example of true artistry, excellence, and professionalism. I am grateful for the honor of working with you.
"May the yet unwritten chapters far exceed your most wonderful and wildest dreams.”
Wrestling star Alpha Female added: “I'm so proud of you. You did so amazing and it was so fun watching you. See you in Japan again.”
While WWE’s Liv Morgan wrote: “Such a pleasure to meet and work with you, Kairi My friend, thank you!”
