Former USA keeper Hope Solo responded to the US Soccer Federation after they said the men's team are more 'skilful' than the women.

US soccer players, including Solo, have brought a gender discrimination case against the governing body over equal pay.

And in a filing to the case, US Soccer argued they pay the men more because they are more 'skilful' and have a 'bigger responsibility' than the women.

Solo retweeted the announcement that there was only standing room left at the US' SheBelieves Cup match against Japan and used her caption to take aim at the governing body.

She wrote: "When was the last time this happened for a #USMNT match? I guess women are just biologically predisposed to having more skills at selling tickets."

The trial for the case is due to start in May.

USA v Japan will be played tomorrow in the final match of the SheBelieves Cup, with the world champions needing just a draw to take home the trophy.
