Ex-Manchester United players Gary Neville and Ryan Giggs open their hotels to the NHS
Manchester United football legends Gary Neville and Ryan Giggs have opened their two hotels to the National Health Service workers to help them during the coronavirus outbreak.
The pair co-own hotels in Manchester and which will be closed to the public, freeing 176 beds for healthcare workers.
In addition, Neville said that none of their hotel workers will be made redundant and they will all be given full pay while they're not working.
Neville said: "It is something we are delighted to have been able to come to an agreement with. It is at this moment in time that the whole of our industry needs to show solidarity, not just for our staff in these uncertain times, but for the people who need the accommodation most in the coming months.
"Our staff will operate the hotel as normal when health workers are allowed to stay there without any cost whatsoever when they need isolation away from family members who might be affected."
Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich and chairman Bruce Buck announced a similar gesture as they opened the Millennium hotel at Stamford Bridge to NHS workers.
