Crystal Palace midfielder Ciara Watling terminates contract after four years with the club
Crystal Palace midfielder Ciara Watling has decided to terminate her contract from the FA Women's Championship side.
The 27 year-old has been a player for the West London side for four seasons and has also got involved with helping the club's foundation and junior team.
Watling took to Twitter to confirm her departure from the second tier outfit.
She wrote: "I have unfortunately decided this is the right time for me to leave.
"From signing at the club, to captaining the team at Selhurst Park it’s been a great journey, a honour and a privilege.
"There is so much to say and so many people to thank at this great football club, the team-mates ( past and present ) and staff to the amazing fans who have given me so much support over the years, I can’t thank you enough.
"I’d like to wish the club all the very best. I have not yet decided on my future."
Palace also released a statement which said: "Ciara has been an outstanding ambassador for the sport on and off the pitch.
"She earned the PFA Community Champion Award last season and has been an integral part of the club's history.
"The club wishes Ciara all the best for the future and would like to thank her for all she has done over the past four seasons. She will be welcome at Crystal Palace at any time."
