Controversial cartoon 'South Park' leaves viewers outraged over transgender athlete episode
Creators of South Park have been heavily criticised for distastefully mocking transgender athletes.
The latest episode titled 'Board Girls' revolves around a local strongwoman competition in which character Heather Swanson claims she started to identify as a female 'two weeks ago' in order to enter the competition.
"I'm not here to talk about my transition," says Heather, who bares a striking resemblance to late American wrestler Randy Savage, "I'm here to kick some f****** a**."
She immediately dominates the competition but is later revealed as an ex-boyfriend of a rival competitor, disguised as a trans woman in order to undermine her.
The controversial episode has sparked debates on Twitter as some have cited transphobia.
But fans of the show claim that making a mockery of 'political correctness' is what the show is famous for.
