Charley Hull to finish Rose Ladies Series rather than jet to US for LGPA Tour
World No 25 Charley Hull has decided to see out the Rose Ladies Series in England instead of heading to the US to join the LGPA Tour.
Her original plan was to cut the Rose Series short, as Gemma Dryburgh has, but she has had a change of heart.
So far in the competition she has won an event at Brokenhurst Manor and has had three top six finishes. Now series leader Dryburgh has left, Hull could come out on top.
The 24 year-old will now compete for the American Golf Order of Merit which would see her at the top of the series standings at the Computacenter Grand Final giving her a £20,000 bonus.
The Grand Final begins on August 5.
Pro golfer Justin Rose and his wife Kate created the series to get golf going again amid the coronavirus pandemic.
And Rose’s agent at Excel Sports, Paul McDonnell, said: “I’ve spoken to Justin and Kate and they are thrilled that Charley is to carry on playing in the series.
“To have someone of Charley’s status is, of course, a big boost. We completely understand why Gemma felt she needed to be back on the LPGA Tour to fight for her playing status and we wish her all the best. The series is going from strength to strength and is sure to get even more exciting in the forthcoming weeks.”
Other stars who remain in the series include Georgia Hall, Liz Young and Annabel Dimmock.
