Caster Semenya hints at baby gender with further cryptic social media posts
Earlier this week, Olympic champion Caster Semenya hinted that she and wife Violet Raseboya are to become parents and the South African runner has now taken to social media in what appears to be a gender reveal.
After initially posting a teasing photo of baby-sized Nike trainers on Thursday, the middle-distance athlete continued to keep fans speculating with another three posts.
In the first photo, the 29-year-old uploaded a picture of a Nike baby grow emblazoned with the caption ’I have arrived’.
This was followed by a cartoon which read ’baby’ and, being primarily pink in colour, started rumours the baby is a girl.
Her final post again features baby-sized Nike attire with two baby grows; one grey with pink features and one pink with spots.
Fans and fellow competitors were quick to offer their congratulations to the couple, who married in 2017 after a ten-year partnership.
Team GB long-jumper Jazmin Sawyers wrote: “Congrats Caster” while Nigerian footballer Oparanozie Desire added: “Congrats champ” with a heart emoji.
Semenya is currently signed to South African women’s football side JVW and was aiming to compete in the 200m at the Tokyo Olympics after it was ruled that her elevated levels of testosterone caused by ’difference of sexual development’ would require her to take hormone suppressants to race between 400m and a mile.
