England's 2017 World Cup winning cricketer Lauren Winfield marries Rugby League star Courtney Hill in Australia
England cricketer Lauren Winfield and Leeds Rhinos star Courtney Hill have announced they are now married following a picturesque ceremony in Australia.
The couple, who have lived together in England since 2018, tied the knot following the conclusion of the T20 World Cup last week, which Winfield and co were eliminated at in the semi-finals after rain prevented them from facing India.
The nuptials were attended by several English cricketers who also played in the T20 World Cup a few weeks ago.
Among the congregation was batting superstar Tammy Beaumont, captain Heather Knight, engaged teammates Nat Sciver and Katherine Brunt and BBC Commentator and England player Alex Hartley.
The couple are now jetting off to Fraser Island for their honeymoon after a busy period for both of them.
Hill led her Leeds Rhinos side to the 2019 Super League title and picked up the Woman of Steel award for her personal contribution, while Winfield endured a busy summer in England's Ashes side before preparations began for the T20 World Cup.
Winfield will captain the Northern Superchargers in the inaugural season of 'The Hundred' this summer, while her wife has not yet ruled out a potential return to cricket, having swapped the bat for the rugby ball in 2018.
