Former WWE star Nikki Bella has told of her regret that her break-up with ex professional wrestler John Cena appeared one-sided.

The couple split in 2018, ending their six year relationship which was documented on the reality TV show Total Divas. 

Bella, 36, said Cena's side of the split wasn't shown fairly enough to viewers.

Speaking to Health.com, she said: "The one thing I really regret about show-casing the break-up is that no one got to hear [John’s] voice, and it just seemed so one-sided.

"I felt like that wasn’t fair to him because he was on this journey with us from the beginning."

Bella recalled that in Total Bellas, a spin-off series from Total Divas, that Cena 'never took one paycheck'.

She continued: "It was beautiful - he was fully there to support me. I’ll never forget his support and his love.

"That’s what made me sad — I don’t want to say it became the Nikki show, but in a way it did because you didn’t get to see John anymore.

"My family loves John. I love John, he’s such an amazing person."
